Applications are invited for the positions of two J.R.F. to work in a project entitled “Understanding the molecular basis of cellular dedifferentiation during regeneration of zebrafish spinal cord: insight from microarray analysis” funded by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.
Post: Junior Research Fellow- 2
Essential Qualification: M.Sc. First class with NET/GATE in Life Sciences viz. Zoology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology or any other relevant discipline. The candidate is expected to develop and implement methods like injury model (dissection skill), histological and immunohistochemical analysis, confocal imaging, microinjection and general molecular biology techniques with emphasis to RNA work.
Salary: as per DBT Scale and HRA.
Candidates should be capable of maintenance of Zebrafish and Axolotl colonies, will also have the opportunity to be associated with gene function analysis of the ongoing genomewide array analysis. The successful candidate should be highly self-motivated, energetic, work efficiently and have a keen interest in Developmental biology / Neurobiology.
Tenure of appointment: The duration of appointment will be initially for one year from the date of joining, but extendable for another year depending on performance and availability of funds.
