The Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, was established on October 20,1995 by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Haryana with the objectives 'to facilitate and promote studies and research in emerging areas of higher education with focus on new frontiers of technology, pharmacy, environmental studies, non-conventional energy sources and management studies and also to achieve excellence in these and connected fields'. It was formally inaugurated on November 1, 1995. It is named after Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj, a saint environmentalist of 15th century. Keeping in view the nature of courses offered at the university and the mandate for which it had been established the name of the university has been changed as Guru Jambheshwar university of Science & Technology

The University offers following research programmes leading to award of degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) through Entrance Tests scheduled to be held on 24th Dec, 2012 in Following departments:

The Information Brochure (Ph.D. Prospectus 2012-13) containing application forms and other details for research programmes are available on sale counter (Registration Branch) on payment of Rs. 1000/= (Rs* 250/- in case of SjC/BC candidates of Haryana) w.e.f. 23.11.2012 to 21.12.2012. Candidates may obtain the same by..post from Asstt. Registrar (Regn.) upto 19.12.2012 by sending Demand Draft of Rs. 1050/- (Rs. 300/- in caseiof SC/.B.C candidates .of Haryana) in favour of ‘Registrar, GJUS&T, Hisar’ payable at Hisar. The application forms and other details can also be downloaded from university website www.gjust.ac.in also. Such application must be submitted along with a Bank Draft of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 250/- in case of SC/BC candidates of Haryana).

The university also offers some research scholarships named ‘Sir C.V. Raman Research Scholarships and ‘University Research Scholarships’ for which details are given in the Information Brochure.

The Application Form, complete in all respect, must reach, Chairperson of the respective department by 21.12.2012 upto 5.00pm. Incomplete applications or those received alter last date shall not be entertained. Candidates should read the Information Brochure for Ph.D. programme 2012-13 carefully before submitting the Application Forms.

NOTE: Number of Ph.D. seats/scholarships may increase or decrease in any of the above department One supernumerary seat for the Managers, Senior Scientists, Senior Administrators/ Corporate Officers/ Officers working in various Industries/ Institutions of National repute in each department will be allowed to be filled up on receiving proposals from the chairpersons of the willing departments of the university .[Candidates applying for the research programme should also check the other details and broad areas of specialization available for guiding Ph.D. in each department at university website
