Post: Manager-Medical Scientific Liaison
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Work closely with internal customers to develop and execute a business plan designed to meet shared business objectives.
- Develop tactics for communicating complex scientific information to the healthcare community.
- Populate and maintain all relevant commercial and clinical data on targeted clients within the Primary Care Opinion Leader Database.
- Uncover data that may have the potential for publication and/or abstract presentation.
- Disseminate and convey complex medical and scientific information to professional and internal audiences.
- Provide necessary clinical support for Primary Care products in third-party payer environment. Present scientific evidence in support of customers developing guidelines and protocols.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and academic centers in therapeutic areas of commercial and research interests. Provide appropriate scientific and technical support. Develop speakers through one-on-one clinical training on approved clinical slide sets.
- Act as a clinical resource with professional and advocacy organizations with the objective of developing relationships and identifying potential business opportunities.
- Identify and support research opportunities with appropriate healthcare practitioners as they relate to TSIC activities.
- Identify opportunities to partner with clinicians on various initiatives and develop programs to drive and augment sales strategies.
- Serve as scientific resource to sales, marketing and clinical as appropriate. Assist with Commercial activities, medical content review and professional communication materials.
- Provide support for answering unsolicited medical questions, adverse event follow through and other clinically related medical information issues.
- Perform administrative duties in a timely manner as assigned.
Position Accountability / Scope:
1. The Medical Science Liaison maintains the authority to determine the most significant business opportunities within his/her respective assignment. The determination is based upon available market research data, account potential, account probability of success and input from appropriate internal customers.
2. The Medical Science Liaison also has the authority to make resource allocation recommendations as is appropriate to achieve business objectives.
3. The Medical Science Liaison must be alert to key changes in the market by listening to providers, competitors and governmental regulators.
