Applications are invited for two post doctoral research associates/fellows to work in the group of Professor Hon Wai Lam. This project is part of a wider research programme aimed at the development of selective transition-metal-catalysed reactions for organic synthesis. Work will typically involve the development of new catalytic enantioselective processes or catalytic C–H and C–C functionalisation reactions. Application of these reactions to target molecules of biological interest is a long term goal.
Candidates should have (or will shortly obtain) a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry, and will have an outstanding track record in natural product synthesis, methodology development, or a related area. Experience in transition metal catalysis, asymmetric catalysis, or C–H functionalisation reactions, is desirable.
Post: Research Associate/Fellow in Synthetic Organic Chemistry (Two posts, fixed term)
School/Department: Chemistry
Salary: £24,766 to £36,298 per annum, depending on skills and experience (minimum £27,854 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance
Job Family and Level: Research and Teaching Level 4
Contract Status: Fixed term 36 months
Hours of Work: Full time 36.25 hours per week
Location: School of Chemistry
Reporting to: Professor Hon Wai Lam
