Bharathidasan Institute of Technology (BIT) has been established as a Technical Institute under Anna University, Chennai by the Government of Tamil Nadu and recently sponsored with Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) grant. It offers a variety of UG, PG and research programmes with an approximate of 3000 students in the campus. The Institution works towards developing partnerships with industries and academic institutes to provide quality education and opportunities for entrepreneurial development. The main objective of the institute is to generate a horde of highly creative professionals, who can contribute not only to the Human Resource Development and also to Nation building exercise. BIT has carved a niche for itself in providing technical education in the disciplines that are rare of their kind in our country with a high level of competence since 1999.
DEPT. OF PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGY
Our Department offers a unique B.Tech. in Pharmaceutical Technology, M.Tech in Biopharmaceutical Technology, M.S. (By research) and Ph.D. Programme in order to cater the technical human resource needed for the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industries. The Department established a Centre for Excellence in Nanobio Translational Research (CENTRE) and excels in research activities through many centrally sponsored research projects to a tune of ~Rs 9.00 Crores.
The Department established “National Facility on Drug Development for Academic Institutions, Pharmaceutical and Allied industries” with the support of Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi with an array of State-of-the-art research facility including LC-MS-MS, FT-IR, HPLC, UPLC, HPTLC, Airway Mechanical Analyzer, Animal Anesthetizer, Multimode Reader, Inverted Fluorescent Microscope, Gel Electrophoresis and Gel Documentation system and many related small equipment.
ABOUT THE FDP - MPPLSER
Pharmaceutical and Life Science Education as well as Research are often interdisciplinary in nature and requires multidisciplinary skills and expertise. This FDP on MPPLSER is specially tailor made for the Pharmaceutical, Life-Science Educators and Researchers for enriching and enlighten themselves with Recent Advances in Pharmaceutical, Life Science Research and Related Methodologies with demonstration or hands-on training sessions. The spectrum of topics chosen to be delivered by eminent experts in the field would be beneficial to career aspirants, researchers and beginners. To name a few, Advances in Microcopy and Biological Imaging, Software Simulations for Drug Discovery Research, Recent Pharmacological Techniques, Chemical Engineering Applications in Life Science Research, Theoretical Chemistry, Natural Products, Drug Discovery and Delivery, Cancer Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Synthetic Chemistry, Protein Isolation, Purification & Characterization, Nano-techniques, Design of Experiments and etc.
INSTRUCTIONS
Number of Registration is restricted to 50. Selection is based on first come first served. Preference will be given for young faculty members. Participation in this FDP can be accounted for Career Advancement Purposes. Filled in application along with registration fee in the form of D.D. for Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) drawn in favour of “The Dean, BIT Campus” payable at Tiruchirappalli may be submitted in person or send by post/ courier to Dr.S.Latha / Dr.P.Selvamani, on or before 05.12.2013. Participants are requested to bring their own laptops for the training sessions. No TA/DA is admissible for participants. Working lunch and refreshments will be provided.
