Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, popularly known as GITAM was founded in 1980 by an inspired group of eminent intellectuals and industrialists of Andhra Pradesh led by Dr. M.V.V.S.Murthi, Former Member of Parliament and popular philanthropist. Their mission was to set up a world-class technology and management institution in the picturesque city of Visakhapatnam to impart futuristic and comprehensive professional education of global standards with a high sense of discipline and social relevance in a serene and invigorating environment. The avowed objective of GITAM is to train qualified professionals to shoulder the responsibility of contributing to the development of India as a “Knowledge Society”.
A One-Day Workshop in PK/PD Modeling: Hands-On training using Phoenix® WinNonlin® software is being organized by GUAM Institute of Pharmacy, GUAM University for the first time in the state of AP. PK/PD modeling is the integral part of drug discovery, clinical development and bioequivalence testing in industry as well as in academic research. The event is being organized to provide the relevant skills to the faculty, students so that they could leverage better data analysis, interpretations leading to quality publications from their academic research.
This workshop will also teach about tools required to perform certain job functions in the industry.
Participants come from universities and academic institutes are expected to have some knowledge in Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaco¬kinetics. The workshop is structured around a set of real-world, hands-on examples in which the participants will have the opportunity to work through the problems using WinNonlin software. As a special feature, free 1-month trial version of software will be provided to the workshop participants. Sessions are intended to be interactive between the participants and instructor, as well as among the co-participants. Participants may also bring data to share with the course participants and instructor to gain their insight.

Eligibility & Requirements:
Persons with B.Pharm, Pharm.D, Post Baccalaureate Pharm.D, M.Pharm, Ph.D in Pharmacy are eligible to register.
Participants are expected to bring their own laptop computers for workshop. One month free trial version of Phoenix® WinNonlin® software details will toe sent 1 week earlier to registered attendees. Minimum computer requirements are: Windows XP SP3/Vista SP2 32 bit/Windows 7 SP1 32 and 64 bit (Windows 8 is NOT Compatible). Processor Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz. ora CPU of EQUIVALENT processing Power and RAM 2 GB of RAM and Hard drive free space 300 MB. Attendees shall have administrator rights to the computer to be able to install the software.
